How to Stick to Your Resolutions

Do you have any personal tricks or tips to sticking to your resolutions?

Instead of calling them resolutions, I refer to them as goals. I like to set small goals and each time I reach them, I make new goals. I am always making new goals for myself. Reaching my goals allows me to feel accomplished!

I treat my goals as a challenge to myself. I always start with small goals. I really think that people quit so quickly because they set outrageous resolutions. For instance, they want to lose 100 lbs. in 10 days or they want to win the lottery. You have to think logically. Set little goals and go from there. Don’t expect a miracle.

I am trying to stay motivated with my fitness. I know I am not perfect, so I set small goals each week. This past weekend, I was thrown off from my workouts. I hope to get back into this week!

I don’t dwell on the past. I am always looking forward and start fresh with new goals. Don’t let your failures get you down. Set new goals and go for it!

Here are 5 tips to sticking with your resolutions:

1. Set goals

Set little goals. Go for it. Set more goals. Surpass them. Repeat.

2. Surround yourself with others who lift you up

It always helps to have great friends and family who encourage you. You can choose who you surround yourself with. Do your friends provide positive thoughts? You want someone who is upbeat and friendly and willing to help you!

3. Always try to improve yourself

Be willing to try new things to improve what you are already doing. As a blogger, I am always open to trying new things to improve my writing, blogging, social media, pictures and more.

4. Reward yourself

Reward yourself when you reach your goals. Whether it is treating yourself to sweets, mud mask or retail therapy!

5. Smile and Repeat all of the above. You’ve got this!
