Last year around this time, my family and I made a big shift. I was working full time while my husband was working part time and going to school full time. I had just switched jobs and ended up quitting that job. I went back to being a full time stay at home mom, wife and blogger. My husband was able to get full time hours at his job. This was a huge shift for us because I was working full time for over two years while my husband was working part time.
Looking back, I am so happy I am able to work from home full time. I am able to set my own schedule with my work. I prefer to work when my son is at school or happily playing on the computer or video game.
With the big shift we went through, I didn’t mind it because I was a stay at home mom before for several years. My husband had to step up and work full time. For the 5 years before that, he got used to either working part time, full time or not at all. I think he likes working full time. It keeps him busy. I think he struggled with the change at first but he likes his job so he was able to adapt.
The shift allowed me to focus on myself again and dedicate my time to my family and my blog. Now that I have two blogs, I am doing my best to keep up! I like staying busy but sometimes that gets in the way when it is time to work and I want to multitask! It doesn’t help when my phone notifications are going off every few minutes between social media and email.
Overcoming our shift in responsibilities strengthened our family. I am able to stay at home and take care of my family and my husband enjoys going to work. We both have a purpose and we are happy.
