Alright, you know you wanted to sing right along with me. 😂

Today we’re going to talk about my newest pair of sports socks.  Darn Tough Socks that is.

What is probably the most underrated gym apparel?

SOCKS!

I know talking about socks may be boring but I find out weekly how important they really are to me when it comes down to working out.

When I pack my gym bag in the mornings before work, it’s an automatic that I grab a shirt, shorts/pants (depending on the weather), sports bra, shoes, socks, pre-workout mix and post-workout mix.

I can say at least once a week, I forget to grab some socks.  I’ll take off my uniform and change into my gym wear, to find out that I forgot to pack my socks.  In my head I say some choice words because without socks, I cannot go to the gym or go running.  There is no way that I’m putting my bare feet into my workout/running shoes without any socks.  Now remember, I said earlier that I pack my gym bag in the mornings before work?  I’m not 100% fully awake when I do it.

When I do remember to grab my socks and I know I’m not the only person that does this, but just as long as I find two socks that are the same brand then I’m good to go.  I don’t know why I can never find a matching pair.

So, now you can see why I say socks really are important, especially if you’re an active person.
Darn Tough Sock Company contacted us to see if we would want to give a pair of their socks a spin and of course my gym going self couldn’t turn down a pair of running socks so I obliged!
The pair I wanted to try is the Black/Gray Vertex Tab No Show Ultra-Light #1759 in the size Medium.  When I wear socks, I like the no-show ones.

It’s described as:
Less is all you need. Weighing in at only 13 grams per sock our Vertex No-Show tabs are incredibly light but still incredibly tough.  Plus they even have that handy lil’ tab on the back so they slip on easy. True Seamless construction reduces hotspots and blisters.  Ultra-high stitch count creates a super comfortable sock with a streamlined fit like no other.  No slipping, no bunching, no blisters.  Fine gauge Merino Wool makes this a fast drying and breathable “all-weather” sock that stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter.  And since Merino Wool is naturally antimicrobial this sock repels bacteria and odor when you’re laying down the miles.  Still made in Vermont.  Guaranteed for life.
Details
40% Merino Wool, 54% Nylon, 6% Lycra® Spandex

They have several different kinds of socks for women, men, and kids to include: Hike/Trek, Running, Biking, Skiing, Hunting, and Work.

I put them to the test by first wearing them for a few hours during the weekend just around the house to feel the comfort level then on another day, I put them to the workout/sweat test.
I wore them around the house in my house slippers and after a while, I totally forgot that I had them on.  I almost jumped in the shower with them.
Now the real test is when I wore them to the gym.  In this gym session, I did the elliptical machine for 4 miles, did the row machine for 2000 meters, and then relaxed in the sauna for 15 minutes.

These aren’t as “no-show” as my other socks and I think they pop out at you more because I’m wearing a pair of white shoes.  Please disregard the lil bit of hair stubble. YIKES!! EMBARRASSING!

Here you can also see the lil’ tab that they have that makes it easier to slip on and take off your socks.

When I got home, I was ready to take off my socks to see if they were dry or not…
Surprisingly, they were DRY and didn’t have any stench to them.  I would have thought the sweat enduring sauna would have gotten them somewhat moist, but it passed the test!
So their claims of them being “fast drying and breathable” are 100% correct with this pair of socks that I have.

They are completely comfortable on my feet while I was working out and while I was in the sauna.
