I am a work at home mom, so my work is at home. When I worked full time, I was able to separate work and home because work stayed at work. I had the type of job that I did not stress over. Now that I work from home, I am thankful for my work environment because I can set it up as comfortable as I want. I set my own music and my own work space. I can take as many breaks as I want too. I love it. My husband on the other hand is pretty much on call. If someone needs to reach him, he does need to respond. His work schedule will change but in the meantime, he does have to take work home with him and be available via phone or text.
How do you set limits for your work and home life? Do you let work invade your home?
For me, I set schedules and deadlines. Since my work is at home, I have the freedom to determine my own schedule. I like to do my work in the morning and have the rest of the afternoon and evening as my free time. There are instances when I jump online to do a little work here and there to help save time for the next day. Every once in awhile, I like to do some writing in the evening when it is quiet and get everything ready for the next day to schedule.
I set my own limits to how much I work. Some days, I work all morning until I realize I haven’t eaten in hours. This year, I am trying to make time for fitness. I am trying to work in a walk and jog on my treadmill in the morning! Not only does the exercise get my blood pumping but it gives me a boost of energy! I realized that I needed to change my schedule a bit and make time for fitness is my answer.
So far this year is going great. After putting my son on the bus yesterday, I started my morning on the treadmill. I wanted to get in a nice workout. My energy levels were on point all day too!
